Chapter 4: My Favourite Type of Site

There are many types of sites in the internet. Just to name a few there are Online Services, Commercial sites, Institutional sites and Media sites. One of my favourite site is within the four which I have just mentioned, it is the Online Services. The abbreviated term is OSP (Online Service Provider). It is a generic term that describes any company, organization or group that provides online service.

In Online Services there are many types of providers as well for example, news providers, entertainment providers, e-shopping site and many more. The services it provides may include Web sites, discussion forums. chat rooms, or Web mail. All this services can be used when the paid members could dial via a computer modem.

In Online Services, the provider which interest me most will be the entertainment providers and the e-shopping sites. The entertainment site gives me the latest range of news around the world and it satisfy the need of information in me. Besides that, it easy for me to get all the information I may want in one website. As for the, e-shopping site, is the best because it is the same as the entertainment providers BUT instead of news/information, it provides products. The products can be bought within the real-time from the seller, without any intermediary service.

Chapter 3: Digital-Effects

One of the video I know of that uses digital-effects is this Korean music video by this guy's name, G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong). He is a leader from a group, Big Bang and this video is from his solo album 'Heartbreaker'. Check the video out with an open-heart. :]

Chapter 2: Planking in trend.

WHO? WHAT?WHY?: WHAT is Planking?

Planking is also know as the lying down game. The rules of the game is that the individual takes a picture of themselves and lying face-down and with their arms positioned rigidly to the side. It has become widely popular because of the locations players choose to plank. The location of the planking needs to be as public as possible so that the other plankers will dare to themselves to find a much more "public" places to get more likes on their planking.

Planking was claim to be created by this guy named, Tom Green in 1994. Planking grown its popularity in Australia where there has been huge media coverage. It started off with an Australian rugby league player David "Wolfman" Williams celebrates scoring by planking, while another nation's leading chat-show hosts Kerri-Anne Kennerley opened one of her show by planking.

The growth of planking is a "meme" [an idea that goes viral online and becomes a global trend]. An example will be flash-mobbing. The essence of Planking is not just lying stiff but just posing at an unexpected place. It needs to focus on the humorous side of Planking and not the dangerous and extreme Planking as it may result to death.

Earlier today, me and my few other friends were at Jaya One having a drink and I was telling them about Planking. Most of them do not know what Planking is, so I decided to show them and asked them to try it out. We even came out with the idea of a double-stack-up Planking. A new way to Plank in a way. :] Or more like creating a new planking style where no other plankers had tried, I think. Its my first time trying out this game and it takes courage to do it as the rules said it needs to be as public as possible. But it was fun doing it with my friends. Additional memoirs into our friendship.

Chapter 1: For Starters..

To begin with anything and before going any further, I would love to introduce myself. The name's Cherrie and I'm a mass communication student at SEGi University College. I love being a minimalist in fashion and arts but not in music. From anything to everything in my life, music is the priority of all. To be involve in the music industry will be an achievement in my life.

So, as for my first post will be about media and technology (is part of my assignment for Media, Technology and Practice). As media and technology grew in this century, anything is possible to do and helps to make activities in daily life easy. Besides that, the media releases information like the speed of lightning with the help of the advancement of technology. In my opinion, media and technology works hand in hand and there are pros and cons to it.

The Con: Media may weaken the individual's capacity to act autonomously with the advancement of technology.

The Pro: Every bits of information will be in the tips of the individuals fingers by just a "click" away.

Overall, the media and the advancement of the technology is pretty much helpful in this

digitalised era but there is a need of boundaries in the middle.
